Monroe Orchard

Fall is here and so is apple season, as well as, pumpkins, gourds, and cornstalks. It may be 83 degrees, but the trees are all ready turning. It is a fun autumn outing to take the kids and pick your own apples right off the tree. Monroe has many different types of apples. They were picking three types today, but they have more types that are already picked for you. If you want to pick your own and you only want a certain type, you may want to check what apples can be picked before you go. Although you cannot tell from these photos the place was pretty busy - lots of people apple picking.

I stopped by today to get my apples right out of their already picked stock. I came back for the 2nd week in a row to get more Macoun, that and the Macintosh are my personal favorites. I also like the Ida Reds, but they are not ready until October. While I was choosing my apples they came around with cider to try, and it was a winner so I ended up with cider, too. They have many other things to buy like: different types of squash, pears, jams, jellies and maple syrup.

Monroe Orchards is located at: 6313 Pioneer Trail, in Hiram, OH. You can call them at: 330-569-7464.
